Plant care

Water: Water the soil around the “Firepower” when it becomes dry to the touch. Soak the ground thoroughly, but do not allow it to become soggy.

Soil: Spread mulch around the plants to help keep the soil cool and moist. Use organic mulch and spread a 2-inch layer on the soil surrounding the plants.

Sunlight : Plant in full sun to part shade. Plants grown in shady areas are more susceptible to this fungus, as these plants take longer to dry.

Plant Tip: Avoid excess moisture on the “Firepower” to prevent anthracnose.

It requires very low maintenance.  However, extreme amount of heat can prove harmful for it. It can thrive in any type of soil, but prefers rich and moist soil. It requires deep watering initially while planting. Later on, watering it twice a week is sufficient when the soil becomes dry to touch. Once it is established well after around three months, it becomes drought tolerant. Over watering it can damage its roots and cause die back. Ensure that the soil around it is moist, but not soggy. Spreading mulch around it will help in keeping the soil moist.
